The American Kennel Club (AKC) offers dog health insurance plans through Pet Partners.
Pre-existing Conditions for Dog Insurance Purposes:
AKC through Pet Partners does not cover pre-existing, congenital illness or hereditary condition. A pre-existing condition is known as an incurable condition or illness acquired before the start of the policy date.
Types of Pet Insurance Coverage Included:
Veterinary treatment and surgical procedures, prescription medications, diagnostic and laboratory tests, x-rays, CT scans and MRI’s, hospitalization, emergency visits, specialist visits, cancer coverage, annual physical exam, vaccinations and boosters, heartworm testing and prevention, annual parasite and de-worming control, flea and tick prevention and an annual dental cleaning. Spay or neuter coverage with some policies
Dog Drug and Dental Insurance Available?
Included in plans other than accident only.
Who is Eligible?
AKC dog health insurance coverage through Pet Partners insures dogs between 8 weeks and 9 years of age. However, dogs who were insured prior to the cut off date can remain insured as long as the policy is renewed each year. There will be a surcharge for age. AKC Dog Accident Plus Insurance plan is available for any age.
